![]() Test systems for ultrasound thermography Basic idea of ultrasound-excited thermography (or vibro-thermography) is to visualize the local mechanical loss angle of a component by applying vibrations in the ultrasonic regime. The resulting frictional heat is captured with a sensitive infrared camera and provides information over structural faults. Digital ultrasound generators of the newest generation and robust, specially adapted pieco-ceramic converters are used for sound excitation. Full software control of the e/de/vis generators allows to perform 'intelligent' measurements, resulting in reduced material load and simultaneously larger sensitivity compared to conventional ultrasound thermography. ![]() Brake disc test stand ![]() Cylinder head test stand
